Fallen Horse is a production project founded by Hugo Morris and Daniel Allen. Since their first collaboration, Mattock premiered at the St. Kilda Film Festival, Allen and Morris have dedicated themselves to bringing original cinema to the Australian screen. Fallen Horse aims to tell original stories through innovative filmmaking, as well as supporting and showcasing local creatives and technicians.

HUGO  MORRIS
Founder

Hugo Morris is a producer, writer, and director based in Sydney. His debut short film Mattock premiered at the St. Kilda Film Festival 2023, and he has since gone on to direct another “meat-pie western” Dirty Gold (2024), as well as produce and co-direct The Final Round (2024). Morris also has a slate of smaller projects: Rock Paper Scissors (2023), and The Confession of David Lacertas (2024). Morris is also an experienced artist, previously practising as a painter. He takes pride in giving his films a unique look and is credited as a production designer on other films.

DANIEL  ALLEN
Founder

Daniel Allen is a director, producer, cinematographer, writer, and editor based in Sydney. His passion for filmmaking developed at an early age, educating himself across all areas of filmmaking in order to make his movies. His ‘official’ directorial debut short film Burlesque Syndrome (2022) solidified his love for directing, and he has since gone on to direct 2 short monologues, My Civil War (2024) and Eugene Blackwell (2024), as well as produce and co-direct The Final Round (2024). Allen is also recognised for his cinematography and editing credits on such films as: Mattock (2022), Rock Paper Scissors (2023), and Dirty Gold (2024) to name a few.
